Blaze Jordan's Homecoming: A Rising Star Returns to the Cardinals Caravan
GERMANTOWN, TENN. -- Blaze Jordan, a Southaven native, is coming full circle as a featured guest at the 2026 Cardinals Caravan. This event, held at the Great Hall & Conference Center in Germantown, marks a special moment for the infielder who grew up cheering for the very team he now represents.
A Star's Journey to the Cardinals
Jordan's path to the Cardinals organization was a highly anticipated move at the 2025 MLB trade deadline. In late July, the Boston Red Sox traded the power-hitting prospect to St. Louis in exchange for veteran left-hander Steven Matz. This reunion brought Jordan back to his hometown, where he was originally drafted by Cardinals President of Baseball Operations Chaim Bloom in the third round of the 2020 MLB Draft.
"It's surreal," Jordan said, "coming to games here when I was younger... to call this my home field now, it's pretty special."
Finishing Strong in Memphis
After the trade, Jordan joined the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds, just miles from his childhood home. Despite the pressure of playing in front of family and friends, he finished the 2025 season as a key player in the Redbirds' lineup. Jordan's elite bat-to-ball skills shone through, as he accumulated impressive statistics:
- 19 home runs
- 99 RBIs
- 28 doubles
- A .270 combined batting average
Offseason Focus: The Next Steps
Jordan's success in 2025 didn't go unnoticed. This offseason, he's been working on his agility to handle first and third base more effectively. He's also focused on hitting the ball in the air, a crucial skill for corner infielders.
"I've been working on getting stronger and more agile," Jordan explained. "I want to be quicker at first and third base. On the offensive side, I'm just hitting the ball in the air. As a corner guy, that's what you need to do."
